Pakeer History

Pakeer is the name given to one of the communities among the Dinka tribes; geographically located at the central part of Bor. It is also in a historical place called Jonglei on the Eastern part of River Nile. Pakeer community is in Twic East County in Jonglei state, South Sudan. It is a community with rich cultures, beliefs, traditions, customs, norms and values. The present population estimate for our community is about sixteen thousands (16,000) people. It comprises five sections, namely: Akonychok, Anok, Bere, Chiir and Hol.
